Creating Datasets
Hi,
I am trying to create datasets on a spreadsheet to visualize some of the locations in Canada. I know that I need the geocode (latitude and longitude) for these Canadian locations. I'm just wondering if someone can tell me the best way (template) to create these datasets.
For example, what are the categories I need? Can I separate them
like the following categories?
Name of oganization, Postal Code, Longitude, Latitude

You have a great deal of freedom when defining your fields. The fields you've chosen will certainly work well. When you upload the dataset, the import wizard will ask you tell it which field represents the latitude, and which the longitude.
One thing to consider is whether you have numeric data about the locations as well. Including that sort of data (if you have it) can make visualizations more interesting.
You might also want to start with a small test dataset --- if it doesn't work well, you can always delete it and try again, without having invested too much work up front.
