Collections - an introduction
COLLECTION HELP
Collections show up in many places. You can create collections when you create snapshots, or from your library page. The system creates some collections for you, tracking all the datasets you've ever uploaded, for instance. (You cannot directly add or remove items from the system created collections --- they are managed for you.)
You can sort the contents of the collection by using the "Sort By" menu. If you created the collection, you can remove items from it by using the Remove option in the action menu associated with the item you wish to remove.
You can save the contents of one collection into another collection by using the "Save contents to..." option from the action menu in the upper right of the page. You can create a visualization based on all the datasets in a collection by using the "Visualize datasets" option. If the collection contains snapshots, you can create a slideshow of it by choosing the "Create slideshow" option.
To add items to your collection, look for the "Save to" option in the action menu of items throughout the site.
Every collection has an RSS feed associated with it. Click on the orange RSS button to get the RSS link for use in your favorite feed reader. Most RSS readers can also obtain the feed if you give them the URL of the page.
To comment on a collection, click on the "more details and comments" link.
