Can I make URLs to search results?
Sometimes you want to create a link on your web page that will open a search result in Insight. So, you make your advanced query in Insight in hopes of copying the URL. But, the query parameters aren't shown in the URL, so copying it won't reproduce your search. What to do?
Once you've done your search, there is an RSS icon for the results. This RSS URL contains all the parameters to execute the search. Of course, this URL is an RSS feed, not a URL to open the search page. However, you can easily change that URL to make it into a search URL:
Copy the RSS URL, with all the parameters and paste into a text editor. Part of that URL will include ".../rss?...". Keeping everything else the same, change that "rss" to the word "advanced". Now copy that URL and use it on the web page of your choice -- it will open directly to search results with your selected options.
